Logitech MX700

Post by tunis5000 »

Long story short, I want to be able to watch divx vids and stuff on my TV in the other room, it's about 20 feet away, so I would need a cordless mouse. I know there's the bluetooth MX900 but it's a bit expensive, so I was wondering if the MX700 would work about 20 feet away? Anyone have one that has tested the range on these things? TIA

accordin' to logitech, the MX700 has a range o' 6 feet. @ 20' would be sluggish if @ all, i would imagine..

the MX900, ~ 10 meters (32 feet).

As BillyGoat said, the MX700 does lose it's range with a fairly short amount of space. Mine has issues at times and is only about 3 feet away. The Bluetooth one (MX900) would better suit you.

I am able to get about 6-7 feet on my one MX duo combo, but it is very high in the room so that helps. My single mx700 geets about 3-5 feet. my origonal Duo also gets between 5-7feet.

You should look into the mx900 or if this isnt for gaming look at the remotes at http://www.niveusmedia.com/

why not go for a cheaper one?

I have a standard Logi Optical @ home on my HTPC.

I will measure ( as far as my living quarters will allow ) how far it can go tonight

with my standard Logi Optical I got 16 feet or so with no issues ( about as far as my rooms will let me )

I could prolly go further if I put the receiver higher and not behind the PC

thanks guys, guess I'll have to go get one and see if it will work for me, I can always return it. My other option would be to get USB cable extentions but I don't really want to do that...
