me

There is a lot on my harddrive that I would never be able to find again. Stuff that is at least 3 years old and probably not on the net anymore. Plus documents and settings and such.

I have used this on my 160Gb disk, took like 4 days but I got everything back.
I forget how to use it though, do a google search for "testdisk" there is a page that explains what to do.

I lost about 160g of data the other week. I was formating so I put al lmy stuff on an external HD, then formated and whent to copy it all back. File system was corrupt. so i used that disk commander program penguin sugested and it recovered some of it. Ithink I will run some of these other programs others have suggested and see if I can recover some more. :)

Should have mentioned, I used the windows version, which the site says is slow.
My partition disappeared after an clean install. As soon as this program started up it tagged that drive by the name I had it set to. First run through is pretty quick. The second takes forever.

I used GetDataBack when I hosed my Mp3 drive and it restored all of the files...

Best of luck to you... If you haven't started writing new info to the drive, GetDataBack should help out...

I dont know for sure as I have never done this but I think there in lies his problem. Not only did he blow off the partition and reformat, but he also reloaded an OS on this drive. Isn't this the kind of scenario where people have had to send the drive off to professionals and spend buku bucks to get their files back?

Oh, I missed that... Still, it's worth trying GetDataBack - he may be able to retrive some of his old data - what hasn't been over-written by the OS... The formating shouldn't interfere with finding the old data...

Asking for someone to give you their license is a no no in this forum. If you want that kind of help I suggest you look elsewhere or at least do it in private not in the open forum. Or just use that $$$ you were offering and buy a license.
