*Nevermind, figured out the problem. I didn't do one of the most obvious things to do when ram isn't working correctly. Moving it from the first to the third slot fixed the problem.*
Once I read up on the new mobile cpu's I just new it was time to upgrade
Haven't been keeping updated with what's good these days so I just read some random reviews and made my order.
Once the package arrived I slapped everything into the case and it was good to go. The cpu is happily running at 12x200 @ 1.75 vcore. Only problem I'm having is that my ram is currently running at 3-3-3-8 while newegg states that it can do 2-3-3-6. I tried raising the DDR voltage but that didn't help it run at cas 2 or 2.5. Prime95 would fail right away unless it was on cas 3.
I'm pretty clueless about DDR, did I get a bad stick of ram or is this normal?
If your running an NVidia based board, you probably won't get those timings. Tight timings with NVidia based boards are pretty much non existent. Nvidia has designed it that way, for some strange reason. Most systems benchmark better with timings of 3,3,3,11

Your kidding right? Athlon based platforms Thrive off tight timings, thats why they are so picky about ram
Most people I know @ amdmb are running 2-2-2-11 or somewhere in that range
It's running fine now at 2-3-3-6 on the third ram slot. I guess the first ram slot was flaky. Just finished testing it with memtest86, no errors, I'm a happy camper
I myself have been tempted to get two mobiles for my dually rig.. But I'd much rather learn how to do the multi mod. Or get one of those socket adapters that does it for you.. I have two TBred B 1700s running in my dual board. If I could get the multi up 12 or 13 and be stable it would be a nice little bit of a pick me up. Especially since these chips were both running at 2.1ghz by themselves in my 8RDA+ he he.. Just don't know if it would be worth it for a 200-300mhz gain in clock speeds.. What ya think? eGo

i'm useing the TMC-XP adapters when I get my stuff back , socket mod with wires for higher multiplier is another one people use. or you can attempt to paint the pins under the chip
