For some reason I can't seem to back up my windows 98 cd. I'm using a plextor scsi cd and burner and I tried to burn with the cd copier from adaptec. What am I doing wrong? It gets all the way to the end of the disk and then spits it out on a write error. Is there another proggie I need to use or what? I'm trying to copy on the fly, should I copy to the hdd first? Thanks dudes :)

Take your copy of Adaptec EZCD Creator (or similar Adaptec proggie) and very carefully walk over to the trashcan and SLAM it in the can with as much force as you can muster. Now go here and download to your heart's content. I would suggest NERO.

Ditto. NERO is a MUCH better app than EZ CD Creator. All I use.

I agree, Nero is the best.

CloneCd should work with the Plextor setup also.

Hmm. What exactly is wrong with Adaptec ezcd creator? I am using it with my Plextor 12X/10X/32X Eide and have not had one problem with it.

BTW, there is new version updates for it here:

Also a new 1.08 update for the Plextor 2000 software is available at the Plextor site here:

Yeah, what is wrong with Easy CD? I've used it with no problems, but I also use other programs to burn too, including CDRwin, CloneCD, and DiskDupe.

Easy CD is great if you're a newbie to burning. I still use it to burn copies of programs from my hard drive, and make audio cd's.

There is an option in Easy CD when you hit the record button to copy the contents to the hard drive. Make sure that option is checked and I'm sure it will solve most of your problems.

Thats the only one I can't copy. All my games burned fine and I burned them on the fly also. No copying to the hdd. I dl'd nero and clone cd and I'm gonna try those as soon as I get some disks. I assume the windows disk has some better copy protection?

I've made copies with Easy CD including my Win 98 for backup and have had no problems.

There is NO copy protection on the Windows 98 cd. You might have a dirty cd?
