Radeon 9500 pro or Radeon 9600XT?

Because I have them both and I only need one of them.

I would prefer to keep the better over all card, and for the life of me I dont know...and no I dont want to just test them both...that involves Work!

I know origonally the 9600 line was slower then the 9500 pro but the XT added a bunch of speed under the hood but does it make up for its short commings?

No the 9500pro can NOT be moded to a 9700 due to it being the refferance design and it being the streight row of ram chips not around the gpu like that 9700.

Yea yea, I know as the know it all ati guy here I should know this but what ya gana do :)

Greg

I would THINK the 9500 would be faster due to its 8 pipelines as compared to the XT's 4 pipelines. Dont be so lazy bench them both and find out for sure.

Ok, well I think I made the right decision. seeings how I made it last night.

I gave my 9500 pro to kakerot and kept my 9600XT. In most the benchmarks the xt and 9500 were right next to eachother, but when they were not the xt was usually faster. onyl once or twice was the 9500pro faster. I am fine with my decision. :)

you could have still flashed the bios of the 9500, and overclocked it.
