Post by smb »

LAst night I thought I would mess around and see what I could really do with my setup. Here is what I got.

Curiously, this was all done with a power supply that is performing well below specs

Very Strange, but cool none the less

That's some pretty good action there Sal. What kind of memory you using with that?

Also, there's been some talk about voltage fluctuations when using the mobile XP's and I experienced it with my combo. Nothing drastic but noticeable. Had no effect on stability. Mobile XP / nforce2 combos most definitely suck up the power tho. Make no mistake about that.

David, What kind of case and PSU did you end up getting? :cool :

I'm using Simpletech 3700 Nitro. I picked it up from Newegg just to see what it could do.

No kidding about the voltage fluctuation, it bounces all over the place.

I have the al instead of the infinity- its based on a earlier revision that only goes to 2.8 vdimm

As far as your voltages go they are lower then mine
My +12 reads at 11.92 and my +5 at 5 flat

but were i get my major flux is vcore- It undervolts badly and fluxes
I have to set it to 1.825 to get 1.75 and evn then it fluxes between 1.73 and 1.78

As far as my +12 line goes my Voltmeter tells me a different story then the board sensors do

If I had it to do again- I would definalty get the Infinity or a NF7-s
If I could find a vdimm mod for this board Id be uberhappy as well

Also my stupid vdimm undervolts as well- when its set to 2.8 I get 2.77 or so- I would much rather have it overvolt

Thanks, :) Vid_II

OUCH, I just seen the prices on this ram from their retailers. $490.00 for a gig of 3700 suff. I didn't pay that much at the 'egg. I only payed around $250.00. Maybe that's why Newegg doesn't sell it anymore.

Link to really crazy prices
