I don't think so, But I beleive you can go the other way and use your cell to get a lappy on the net via your cellular net connection.

Saw a thing on Tech TV today with them doing exactly that.

for fun you can "bluejack" people. chances of that happening in the US are slim cuz i don't think too many peeps here have their bluetooth connection turned on 24/7 as it really eats up your battery.

for those not too familiar with "bluejacking" you simply enable bluetooth on your phone and scan for other devices like for example in a crowded area (movie theatre, mall, train, etc.) then send them messages. most of the time they won't know where it's coming from. I know it sounds silly but lotsa of people in asia and the UK are into it.

on my particular phone (Sony Ericsson P800), I am able to connect to the net using my pc cable internet connection and connect my laptop to the net using my wireless phone. so basically it works both ways for me. i'm on t-mobile and their WAP service is free if you sign up and you can pay a little more to get more options/features to browse the net using your cell.

i'll try and do some research to see if it's possible on the SE T610/616. Who's your "carrier" btw?

you can also check out this forum. they have lotsa info on cell phones and different carriers.

there should be a Sony Ericsson section there.

http://www.howardforums.com/showthread. ... 2Binternet

i think this pretty much answers your question and also provides a bit more info on WAP/Internet plans for your phone. if you want free(limited) WAP access then i think so far T-Mobile is the only carrier providing limited access free.

fortunately for me, my phone is capable of html browsing using the Opera browser. I think with the T616 you can only access WAP pages. You can definitely dload a bunch of ringtones (polyphonic) and wallpapers via bluetooth.

there are a bunch of sites out there offering "free" polyphonic tones on the net!! :)
