The ARMS Race.

Post by smb »

You ever get so curious that you go out and buy stuff just to see ?

OK, I've got 3 great systems and a kick butt laptop. So, why did I just buy;

DFI NFII ULTRA INFINITY Motherboard
1 GIG Kingston HyperX 3700 memory
MOBLE AMD 2600+
Thermaltake SLK-948U
Case, Powersupply, Lite-On Combo CD-R/RW/DVD

Earlier in the week I bought a Radeon 9800 Pro (oem)

The only saving grace is that I bought it at NewEgg.

Actually I should probably show some restraint every once in a while.

Actually I am quite happy with my current setups, but I'm just itching to see if I can get the Mobile barton real high.

I have yet to put it together. My company has been moving the last few days, and I haven't been getting in till well past 2:00 am. Hopefully sometime this week I can get to it.

I got it put together Saturday. The highest I've gone so far is 11x210. Not very good considering my Barton 2500+ does similalry well.

I went back and read that you were putting 1.8v thru it. What are you using to cool it ?

SLK800 w/ Mechatronics 80mm 53cfm fan. I'm at 1.8v - 1.82v on the cpu. Fluctuates according to MBM 5.3.x.x

What BIOS are you using? I'm using the Oskar Wu 1/21/04 BIOS ( beta ). Get them here but be sure to read the disclaimers.

http://www.dfi-street.com/bios.html

My ram timings are 8-3-3-2-2cas as you read down from the top of ADV chipset page in the BIOS w/ CPC ( command per clock ) disabled.

Maybe I will check that bios out.

My board shipped with the official release 11/27/03 BIOS and it was next to worthless. If you want to really get that thing cranked up, you'll probably want to try that beta BIOS.

haha....... because like me, U are "addicted........"
