yea if you go back to the original pic the chrome on the bottom is stock.

Thanks Pugs, Ego. And Ya its a bit low!

This second car I took a look at and decied to aviod patching all that so I found a donor of the same model and stole the hole side and hood off it. It was a good learning expirience trying to skew those into place believe me.

Not sure if it was a good thing because you can see the door lines are way off and the hood to shiney. Lots off other mistakes too and really isn,t finished..But were do you stop? LOL

I still have that car... its sitting on the driveway with 4 flats and alot of creature conforts removed from it for the wagon... the car is there and driveable with a carb and a few other things. but that doesent look bad either. one thing i noteced is the shadow form the side pipe that you removed.

I went back to the beginng of this thread and wondering if your still going to do that this spring.. I reread the rules... The spraycan thing. If so lemme know. I dint have this software before so maybe I can do somthing sticking to the rules.
Sorry to hear about your other car. I had one just like it so instinct took over and I began too recondition on impulse.. I miss that car.
BTW I also took the chrome lace off the headlights to for a meaner look.

well.. after talking to an older friend of mine he wont let me do a spray paint job ever since he bought a spray gun and what not, so i told him fine then you paint it and he said he would. but im still going to use rustoleum paint. I really dont care what you do with the paint... i just started this thread to get ideals on what to do. anything is valid, i just set them rules so that the submissions wouldent be that hard to actually paint. But if i see one i really like i might go out of my way to make it happen.

And to Augix, If you want the car you can have it... come and get it. i got the title right here ready to sign over. what you will need to drive it away:

rodchester quadrajet 4BB carb (electronic is stock but manual will fit)
all parts for tune up (cap, rotor, plug wires and plugs)
Battery
Micillianous hoses (for fuel line and a few vacuume lines)

that should get it running and driveable. after that its gonna need a wiper motor, heater controls, headlighs and sockets, turnsignal bulbs. that will make it so you can drive it during the night and in the rain. Its still in good shape as far as the body goes. its all yours if you come and get it.

Well.. got a few hours tonight to fool with it and finding this a great learner.. Specialy the flat paint.
Do you have any idas on what the base paint should be? I have a mask of the whole car so changing it is easy so lemme know. (flat red green yellow blue?)
These are flat black (Guessing youd want that) and quickly made using strait lines. Unfortunatly I cant redo the colors of the lines... Dint save those and still trying to figure out lots but sure I can redo em.

But anyway heres an idea.

that aint too shabby... but the hood looks blank. and that kinda remindes me of star wars, and i want to stay as far away from that as possible... but if the red was a dull grey/silver i think it would look ok. I still kinda want to do the P51 mustake shark thing... but who knows.

the colors im going to be working with are whatever i can get in rustoleum in the can (not spray) i dont know if that can be mixed like house paint to get any color. but keep going, i can spend some extra cash on paint if i like it.

Cool! Ill leave the car the original color then work in blacks and gray? Just shades of it? Can do.. and your car has no color to begin with so that makes it esier .. (I think ) Unless you plan to spray it allover with new color to start (base piant) and thats kinda what I was after..

What the hell is a P51? Nevermind Ill look it up..

ha, that aint bad either. A P51 Mustang was a WW2 fighter plane. some would paint shark or "tiger teeth" on them to make them look mean. there is a pic of one such plane on the first page. And youre about right on how i plan to paint it... ill do a base color then add whatever over the base. I could also do a 2 tone base or whatever as long as its easy to do the masking. the second layer stuff can be complex.

Got a little time to whip up somthing quick staying with nuetral colors.. nothing much, but finding out putting teeth on a car just aint exacly easy.. Theres no place for them as thier meant to be. A nose on a P51 is a square canvas compared to a car.. LOL If fact I found a few sites on cars with teeth and havent seen any that looked good IMHO.. Stupid wheel wells! But w'ell try..
Question though.. if I ever get teeth to look good up front (were they should be) what do you want behind it? Straight lines look starwar and animal (like a whale with curves would be hard to mask off for you.
Just not findind a theme so to speak.
This pic is an an atempt to add a plane to the teeth (taken off a pic of aplane with teeth and copyed in)and make the illusion of it flying overhead. Not good but roughed in.. The car kinda has a military look to it too.
And NO I cant put a prop on it. LOL!

ok here is kinda what the grill could end up looking like. again i have no skills in picture editing so thats a verry crude drawing of the general ideal of what ill make. there are 2 ways i could make it:

1: make a bunch of round spikes and bolt the to a rail on the top and bottom to make the teeth.

2: i will more then likely do it like this. Take some sheet aluminum and plasma cut the shape out of it so i have both peices with one cut.

#2 is much cheaper then having to make individual teeth and much less time consuming. i might pait them or just leave them bare aluminum.

The picture displays what looks like neither of the 2 options... but you get the ideal. THe teeth that were on the caprice along wiht the teeth grill would look ok. it would give the wrap around effect.

Yea. Cutting a sheet would be much esier and probrably look better. I combined the two teeth to see what it might look like and added some simple hood lines. ..

I didn't do good of a job drawing the side teeth, but resembles what a tape/piant job might look like using the other capice pic as a guide. Simplily pasting those on didn't look right

As for the rest of it, maybe you could post a car with the type of lines you want to give me somthing to go on. That would help a lot.. In the mean time I might be able to come up with somthing.. Or I just might have to mod the hell out of it for fun and practice..

So when you get a chance post a pic(s).
