Anyone have a Barton running on an 8RDA??

Post by PreDatoR »

I bought Vid's old Barton 2500+ from him. I know my 8RDA supports it. its a 166 board. I can boot at default and that is it. Either i am really stupid or i'm missing something but i cannot get this thing to overclock no matter what i try. And vid had it running at like 2.3 gig. So anyone shoot me some idea's. its been so long since i did any overclocking i'm sure i'm missing something really damn stupid.

I think i'm just retarded. IT seems as if i can't boot past a 13 mult. i wanted to go 15x166 but it won't let me do it. so right now its sitting at 12x195 for 2.34 gig. 1.85v's. and running at a cool 113F (46c)at full load :D sure after the AS3 sets up it will drop a few degree's.

ya it has teh 2/12/04 bios. i'm having a few probs with it not sure if its the FSB or what. I know i can't break 200 on this FSB cause the board NB won't handle it. Damn rev 1.1 boards :D

my old rev 1. board wouldn't do it either, they need a voltage mod, and I'm not that desperate :)

How can you tell what revision the board is? I have a feeling mine is a 1.1 and maybe that is why I cant get over 180 FSB. All this time I have been blaming my ram.

Nice work Pred. Welcome back to the PC world. :D I have my XP2500 at 11x210 and my XP3000 is at 13x180. Can't get the XP3000 to go any higher than 180FSB on this MSI KT6. It ran at 12x200 on the nForce boards.

I backed it off to 12x190 for 2.29 gig at 1.8v's. running at 109F at full load and hasn't had a hiccup yet.

Just upped mine a bit. Now have it running at 12.5x185 for 2.32GHz vcore is at 1.775 and full load temp is at 109F. Have F@H running and played a few rounds of UT2003 seems stable so far but time will tell.
