I am trying to find a Plextor SCSI 8X20 for a friend . I found a guy selling one of the Plextor made Imation CDRs . Does anyone know if they will work with the Plextor burning software DiscDupe 2000 ? Thanks

Yah, it will work. That's what I'm using now. In fact it is one of the very few drives that can successfully dupe safedisk2 and securerom2 protections! (With CloneCD, of course).

You will have to flash it to the Plextor ID if that hasn't been done already. I have all the files if you need them.

I have been running my Imation (plextor clone) 8x20 SCSI cdr since Christmas of '99.. Still running strong, and running diskdupe perfectly. I did how ever hear that some units made either before or after March of '99 would not accept the firmware hack. Just a rumor, but I do remember hearing people having problems hacking the firmware on some of the drives back then. Most likely this won't be a problem.
