Question for those with DVD-RW and DVD-R drives

Post by d_b »

Have you noticed that when using a DVD-RW and a DVD-R, CD-ROM, CD-RW autoplay will not work?

Microsoft acknowedges the problem and if you want to jump thru their hoop you can request a fix here. Or wait until SP 2.

If anyone has already gotten the hotfix I would apreciate it if you couls send it to me.

Thanks,

dan

Couldn't care less. I usually disable autoplay, and most CD/DVD burning software recommends you disable it anyway.

I just put an audio CD in and it came up with the display on my Sony DRU500A (DW-U10A).

I also hate autoplay!
Every time I stick a DVD in my burner that crap software installer comes up wanting me to install their crappy player! No thanks I have Power DVD already and like it better!

Insert game disk, get install screen, duh I installed it a few moths ago, don't need to install everytime I want to play it!

Pop in an audio disk and up pops some player with all the crap songs loaded, have to delete the crap from the play list so I can listen to the 2 good songs on the whole disk!

Great reason to back up my disks, I can delete all autoplay autorun files!

I always forget to hold the shift key, and auto play is on by default when I do fresh installs and I forget to turn it off!

I geuss some people like it, so it's good for them, but I still hate it!
