I want to hook up my existing cable broadband to another computer.

Typical cable connection you could have 4 - 8 people browsing the web and never notice any slow down.

The exception is if someone hogs all the bandwidth by doing a large download or setting up an FTP server or something, but gaming and regular browsing is no problem.
