cheap 5.1 speakers??
cheap 5.1 speakers??
lookin to buy a little cheap 5.1 setup
im by no means an audiophile and couldnt tell you the difference between some labtecs and klipsch.
in fact onboard sound and headphones usually do the trick for me
ive narrowed down my decision to
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... WSE&depa=0
or the logitech z-640s
the setup will be used on a backup rig
do u think its worth the extra 25 bucks to get the z-640s?
or would the 40 dollar ones do me just as good since sound quality is not important
any comments appreciated
EDIT:
also open to other suggestions from other online retailers in the 50-60 price range
thanks again
ALSO WHAT happened to the leadtek winfast tv tuner newegg used to carry?
cant seem to find it anywhere
NVM just bought the z640s
probably would have spent the extra 25 on somethin dumb anyways!!

yeah i decided to go with the majority; 300+ 5 star reviews on the logitechs.
40 shipped for the other system sounded too good to be true despite the 4 reviews.
anybody know about that tv tuner card newegg used to carry?
leadtek winfast or something like that
checked all over the egg and its not there!

53 bucks.......next check I'm getting some.
WOW I paid $65 for mine and feel like I stole them

They will work just fine. I had the same experience with my Epox 8RDA+. If you want you can run the Nvidia sound storm wizard and it will convert your input jacks to output jacks for the speakers. Or the other option that I use since I need my inputs is to just hook the one green lead up to the speaker output and depress the "Matrix Button" on the Z-640's and the speakers will do the separation for you. I tried it both ways and it actually sounded better with just the one lead hooked up and the Matrix button depressed.

Go into Plugin Options and uder DirectSound check the "Allow hardware acceleration". That enables my rear speakers as mirrors of the fronts.
