2 problems

Post by d_b »

1st problem, my cd burner is now only burning at 12x when it is capable of 32x. I tried different media, uninstalling nero, removing the drive from device manager. When I first start Nero it shows that it will burn at 32x but when I actually start burning it does 12x.

2nd problem, Whne using PCA's search function I can only do 1 search. Anytime I click the search link again it takes me to the search I just did.

Anyone who cures my problems get a cookie :D

2nd, click on the search button at the top of hte page, If that doesnt work click on the PCAforums link (to take you back to the main page) and click search again

No cookie for you Absolut Talent,But I'll give you a couple of crumbs for trying.

CD's I'm using are 40x and 48x. Maybe the burner is heading south. Burns fine but who knows.

As for the search... I don't understand it. If I do one search it works fine but if I do a second it will go to the page I previously searched for. I can only do a new search if I disconnect from the internet and re-connect.

Thanks AT.

What's the DMA setting on the burner? It could be that setting or possibly maybe a firmware upgrade is in call for the burner.

As for the search have you checked your temp internet file settings? Might want to set that to every visit if it isn't already.

Busby, temp internet is set to every visit.

Burner has crashed and burned. Was burning, made a loud noise and quit. Time to get a dvd burner. :D

Sorry about your burner. I had one do that after I tried to overburn. It was a 40x and now only burns at 20x. Though it's only a backup now.

As for that search deal, it's because of the quick search on the bottom. Scroll down and you'll see it. It does pretty good too. But for some weird reason, it takes over the main search after you try it once. One way to stop it is, when it starts that repeat search, hit reload quickly. That takes you back to the main search page. ;)
