“The Government of Spain will not applaud those who set the world on fire just because they show up with a bucket.” - Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez
My buddy had a dual monitor question for me, and I didn't know the answer. He wanted to be able to watch TV on one monitor, and then do work on the other. Is it possible? Do the dual monitors create a multiple desktop deal?

That's the whole beauty of dualies. You can have a window open on each screen, or even have one big spreadsheet open across both screens.
REAL useful for Photoshop users: I leave my photoshop workspace on one monitor and have all my tool windows on the second monitor.
You can setup a dual monitor rig to be one continous large desktop. Then you can open your video player and drag it to whichever monitor you want.
Whether or not it will stay on that monitor the next time you open it depends on the player. Some remember the exact screen coordinates and some always default to the primary display.
The UltraMon utility I mentioned above can help fool some apps into opening on the window you want though.
Also if you drag a Media Player window to the 2nd monitor while it's playing, the picture may vanish. That's because some drivers lose the video overlay. You can fix that by closing the window and opening it again - assuming the app remembers which monitor you want it on.

If you're using a Radeon, try the newest version of Hydravision ( full version, not lite ). It's improved quite a bit in the last few revisions and it's free.
You can use the hotkey functions to "snap to monitor # x" and also preset your window size requirements in addition to what monitor you want various apps to appear on.
Ultramon is a nice prog too but they're going to want cash after 30 days of trial.
