The only trade i could use is a 8x or 12x cdrw drive from a major manufacturer, firewire stuff (drive enclosures and card), or a 3com pcmcia 56k and 10/100 nic combo card. i got me a cheap workhorse 300mhz lappy last nite off anandtech :)

hmm...i could use some serious cooling but i don't know if i'd need all of that stuff.

not a hardcore overclocker but i've got my 850 running stable at 986. it'll lock up occasionally at 995. what would it take to get me up over a gig? lemme know which of those parts i'd need and shoot me a price.

Frost: I don't recall what thickness it is, but i remember it was the thickest when i bought it about 10 months ago. Also, i checked it, and i've about an inch and a half, theres still a good 10.5 inches left id estimate. Also, i want to be sure u know what youre buying with the artic silver-- its the epoxy version, so it naturally comes in 2 tubes that u must mix in a 1:1 ratio for maximum bonding strength. the fact that it comes in 2 tubes means that u get half as much as epoxy agent in each one, its like 3.5g in each tube i believe. ill check on it in a sec, but if youre still interested, weve got a deal :)

kru:
to be sure about over a gig, youd need a 118watt peltier, MAYBE an 84 would do the job, a 72 is hardly worth the effort. only trouble is, 118watt peltier REQUIRE water cooling as a minimum to work effectively, otherwise they heat up the heatsink so much that the delta T makes little difference and BOTH sides get hot. after awhile, you could burn up the peltier and your cpu this way. anyways, youd need these items plus all my tubing and hose clamps that id throw in for free:

$23 Aluminum Waterblock with 90 degree fittings from Tidal Pool
$35 '95 Chrystler New Yorker Heater Core (Paid $50 for this radiator at the junk yard )
$23 140 GPH Submersible AC Powered Water Pump
$28 118 Watt 50mm Peltier @ 16V (Potted by myself)
$8 (2) 50mm Copper Cold Plates

I'd ask $105 shipped for all that. This part is no big deal, but youd need to make a resevoir out of an empty milk gallon jug. just cut a hole in the top, drop the pump in, and the tubes can go through the top as well. I've got anti-freeze as well, which is necesarry to prevent corrosion in the copper tubes of heater core and the aluminum waterblock, hoever, it wouldnt be smart economics to ship a gallon of $4 fluid. ill send u an email with the contents of this post in case youre waiting for one :)

to everyone else, i wasnt really clear on the lappy situation: western union gave me the OPTION of going ahead with a money transfer by bank account, but i declined in light of this new information on the seller. western union refunded ALL my money, even their typical $96 fee.

Hey y0shi, how many watts will that TEC put out at 12v?

Hmm..me thinks a TEC and waterblock will get Scooter's T-bird to 1.3ghz. :D

scooter, it will put out (12v/16v) * 118watts = 89 watts. thats the highest u will find any peltier running off a 12v powersupply, and its running very efficient too, since 75% capacity is the highest efficiency peltiers run at. lmk if youre interested and we can work something out!

the deal for the Abit KT7 and Geforce 2 fell through, theyre both up for grabs again. The geforce 2 has been cherry picked by myself, as the best overclocker in a group of 8 that have passed through my hands, overclocking to 225/400 core memory with default cooling.

asking
KT7 $120 shipped
GF2 $150 shipped
