A7N35N Ultra Problems

Post by smb »

I think my motherboard just gave up the ghost. The thing won't boot at all. I've removed all the cards, reset the bios, changed ram, changed processors and still it will not work. This motherboard is very finickey about power supplies. I went thru 2 power supplies just to get this thing running. I find it a bit strange how it requires the 12v connector to even boot, and run stable.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

I have the an35n ultra and have never connected that 12v connector. It's been very stable so far.

But, shuttle mobo's are known for being too sensitive. A ak31 would no longer boot for me just after a simple northbridge heatsink change.

If you've tried all different parts, have you tried booting with it partially out of the case and on something like cardboard? Just to see if anything is shorting out. I'd also try another battery.

It sux, I know. :(

Yes, I've tried everything on this board. b-man1 you can go to the Shuttle Forum at amdmb.com, and scan thru this sticky thread for more info.

Well, it's going back to newegg on RMA. Hopefully I will get better results with a new one.
