Had a friend with similar problem he did not have XP updated with SP1 when he applied SP1 it recognized his 200 gig HDD just fine. Could also be the IDE controller, some older ones will not recognize a HDD that size.

As Dad said, assuming you have SP1 installed, then it's your controller. Some don't recognize drives over 120Gb. You may need to purchase a controller card like a Promise ATA133 controller.

If BIOS is reporting the right size then the controller is not the problem.

I'd check the mobo manufacturer's website fto see if there's a BIOS update for the mobo and/or an updated IDE driver.

Once SP1 is installed, run Disk Manager. Chances are that Disk Manager will see the whole drive, but you will only have a 120Gb partition on it. You will then need to create a 2nd partition or use Partition Magic to enlarge the existing one.

I would STRONGLY recommend a 2nd partition. It's not a good idea to partition that large a drive as one partition, and it'll make it a lot easier for you to make Ghost images of the main partition.
