A client just replaced the drum in his printer, but there were no instructions packed with the drum. The printer manual, of course, says to read the instructions that come with the drum to reset the counter.
GRRRRR....
Can't find anything on their website or Google newsgroups.
Thanks....
Anyone know how to reset the Drum counter on a Brother 5040 laser printer?

I did a search in Google for "drum counter", and I found one, but it's for a Brother HL1440:
When the DR-400 drum unit is replaced (by following the instructions
supplied with the new drum unit) the following
procedure MUST be followed to reset the Drum LED:
1). Make sure the new Drum is installed per the instructions supplied
with the new DR-400 drum unit.
2). With the Front cover of the printer open, turn ON the printer.
3). The Drum and Alarm LEDs will be ON.
4). Press and hold the button until ALL 4 LEDs are illuminated in
sequence (Drum, Ready, Alarm, and Toner),
then release the button.
5). Close the Front cover and the Drum LED should be OFF.
