Well I'm cheap so I don't even have my pc on a desk right now...I use the floor but the carpet works great for my optical mouse! It cleans it automatically. I would suggest cutting a square of 6'' by 6'' of shag carpet(prefferably orange) and plop that on your desk. ;)

I like my Everglide Optical mouse pad, works great with my Logitech Limited Edition black optical mouse.

I have a Logitech cordless mouse on this computer. It is an older PC. My boys are now usinig it. The problem is that since I moved it to another room the cursor bounces around all over the screen. It's extremely annoying especially when playing games. I've changed the batteries but don't know what else to do. It worked fine on this PC before. Any suggestions?

BJ first off WELCOME to PCA hope you enjoy it here

As for the mouse I am not sure about the Logitech but the MS cordless I used to have had different channels it could use. If yours has this option I would try that. Also try moving the base around. Some other electrical device is probably interfering with it.

try to keep the base away from speakers and monitors (crts). I think the minimum distance it should be kept away was like 12-16 inches.

As dad mentioned, try to change the channel if you can on your mouse (not sure what other models besides the mx700 support this)

Also try a different mousepad/mouse surface if its a optical. On some mice, they have problems with certain mouse pads with the way they see the optical is seen. I had that problem with an older MS mouse and a Max payne mousepad that came with the game (when the optical hit the white bricks after the black background)

and welcome to PCA
