argh...mobo selection

Post by b-man1 »

i've been reading all i can about the NF2 and other chipsets out...KT400/600...starting to go blind from all of the reading!

i've gone from "i want a cheap, dependable board" to "i don't give a #@$@# anymore trying to find a good one...i'll just pay top $$$ and get the super deluxe daddy mobo that'll do everything".

hmmm.

so, i've been looking at these (newegg prices):

Biostar M7NCD Pro ($68)
Shuttle AN35N-Ultra ($66.99)
Asus A7V8X-X ($57.99)
Asus A7N8X-X ($69.99)

the cpu going in will be a 2100+ XP.

NEED: o/c'ing options, cpu longevity (future upgrade to a 3200+ XP or so if possible)
Prefer (but unlikely at these prices): SATA for future upgrades, onboard RAID (IDE for now), dual channel DDR

any suggestions?

Ok.. heh.. Thought you were gonna throw price out the window.. ;) j/j If you can find an 8RDA+ Rev2 they're great boards. I'm loving mine to death! It's been amazing and OCs very well. But they are becoming harder and harder to find. GL in your search! :) eGo

how is the noise on that abit, nexus? i'd like passive cooling...i would like to keep noise down on this pc, and the last board i had was annoying because of the chipset fan on it (and that's how i destroyed that mobo too...while trying to replace that fan! hehe)
