Operation Homelink™ provides free refurbished computers to either parents or spouses of deployed service men
and women in the ranks of E-1 through E-5 (Click here for the titles of qualifying ranks.). Our program enables email communications between families and their loved ones deployed outside of the continental United States.

Corporations Wishing To Donate
Corporations nationwide participate by contacting Operation Homelink™ to donate end of life computers and/or providing financial support (contact@operationhomelink.com. or call (312) 863-6336). Redemtech, our partner and the largest asset and recycling solutions provider in the U.S., coordinates all aspects of the physical donation. Refurbishment and relicensing is provided at a discounted rate and delivery service. The Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) Donation Program is providing Windows 98 operating systems, and U.S. Robotics is supplying modems for the donated computers.

All donated computers must be in good working order and provide basic e-mail functionality running Windows 98 operating system
(or newer) or meet the following minimum technology specifications:

Pentium I, 166 MHz processor or better
Minimum 32 MB of RAM
14" VGA monitor
Minimum 25 computers
Donations are tax deductible (Fed Tax ID: 91-2186796)

the Last time I was Talking to myself . I got into such a heated argument . that is why I swore I never talk to that guy again. you know what it worked now no buddy talking to me. :help

Umm, thanks for the info man, but I highly anyone here has 25 computers to give away.

what the heck is a pentium I their never was a pentium 1
the pentium preceding the p2 was called the p55c and preceding that (non mmx) was called the p54c

True there was no official Pentium 1, but there was a first version of the Pentium (p55c/p54c) aka Pentium and Pentium MMX.

I don't have quite that many.. And the ones I do have are all well over 1ghz and I'm not letting any of them go. I have a butt load (~15) that are sub pentium class. heh.. But right now, I have a total of 6 computers in my room.

2.1ghz AMD
1.83ghz AMD
1.6ghz AMD
1.54ghz AMD
1.3ghz Celery
400mhz Slot 1 (My smallest also my internet server)

That's just in my room, they all fold.. :) If I knew how to make a cluster (thought it's not worth it w/486 boxes) I'd make one out of them. I also have a Celeron 830 and soon will have a 2ghz Celery folding. :D

HA! 15 computers doesent sound hard.. but 15 monitors? i dont know of anybody that has that many laying around... Unless Klark still has that pile of MACs layning around.

Ha! I remember those damn things. I still have one 580 and a Classic around here somewhere. $35 for the entire load wasn't bad considering I sold 5 or 6 of them on ebay for ~$40 each.

I'm still gonna use one of the Mac Classics for a fishbowl one of these days.
