SCSI drives

Post by NascarFool »

I have two Seagate Cheetah 18 gig drives and I am confused on how you connect power to them. They are model ST118202LC. Do these drives require an external enclosure or can they be used within a PC tower ?

The Seagate ST******LC models are so called SCA drives, they have a 80pin connector (which delivers data AND power) instead of the regular 68pin data + power and those drives are targeted at server cases with hotplug capability. You'll need a "80pin SCA to 68pin LVD" connector to use them on a regular SCSI controller (U2W/U160). Those run around $10-$15 a piece.
