OB Sound not working... help!

Post by Demrok »

ok, just formatted the GF's computer
ECS K7SEM with SiS onboard sound, was working fine before the format
not working now... it says there is no soundcard installed and I can Clearly see the devices under device manager...I have removed them and readded them with the newest drivers.. same BS....
I even looked under the bios and it is enabled... why would WinXP pro say that there's no soundcard when it's all installed and appear as "working correctly" ???

lil help guys?
thanks!

Did you install

EVERYTHING? I know I had that problem with my K7S5A and it turned out that I didn't install something.. There's more than just the drivers if I recall.. Check out ECS and see what they've got in the driver section.. If there's an audio program you may need to DL it.

I have been looking for 15 minutes before I posted the original thread... and I have been looking until now on ECS... I HATE their site... it pisses me off to no extent...

I need the SiS 630/730 Audio drivers and all it does is link me to the 7018 stuff...
I know for 100% fact that my VIDEO drivers said SiS 630/730... but the audio I dunno about....
here's a pic of my Device manager...

anything look like it's missing to you?

Also here is a side by side of my "sounds" config....as you can see, there is NOTHING you can click or slide in the left pic
and you can see that in that Right pic all my hardware is listed... and it does say "this device is working properly"

any ideas?? I ran add new hardware and it found bubkas... so I have no idea... it always just worked before....

I'm going to try disabling the soundcard in the bios, rebooting then re-enabling it again....
*crosses fingers*

That's it.. You have to install that to get it going. If you need to, I found my CD that came with my ECS board and it has the drivers you mentioned. I can get on the DC hub and you can DL them from me. LMK eGo
