My new FAT pipe at work

Post by TruckStuff »

We just got a new pipe hooked up at my office: a REALLY fat DS3 line. I just downloaded the Free BSD ISO files. Stats:

Disk 1: 610Mb downloaded in 8 minutes, 11 seconds (12.28 Mbps) that's MEGA, not KILO ;)
Disk 2: 259Mb downloaded in 3 minutes, 31 seconds (12.30 Mbps)

Had to share this with someone who would care. :D :D :D

heheheh sweet! Where I used to work, we had two OC48's and a dozen or so DS3's. It freaking awesome - only thing I miss about that place is the inet connection. Well, and my fat dual xeon workstation!

Very cool dude. Start downloading!!!!

I am fortunate enough to be more or less the only person on a piece of dark fiber. I dont know what the classification of the fiber is, but it is Gigabit fiber right to the net. I have had my connection up to 65 megabits. My limitation is the 100Mbit NIC, and the Cisco connection to me is only 100MBit.

Where'd you download the FreeBSD ISOs from? I got a sweet connection here at school that is around 10 to 12 Mbps.
