New Mobo..

Ok Guys.. I'm lookin' to buy a new mobo.. Doesn't have to replace my 8RDA+ But if it does I won't be upset.. heh.. I'll be getting a Barton 2500+ to go with it. I'm checking out NewEgg right now and they have the following.. :

$60 : Shuttle AN35N-Ultra
$79 : MSI K7N2 Delta-L
$80 : Gigabyte GA-7N400-L
$81 : DFI NFII ULTRA-AL
$94 : Epox 8RDA3+

I'm looking for something that will OC well. Just kind of want some other peoples opinions on these boards. I've seen what the 8RDA3+ can do (NascarFool) and I think a few others have the Gigabyte board and would say it's a good performer. But what about the Shuttle? blade, don't you have one of these? Or the DFI board? And I have an mATX MSI board in a rig now and it has been ROCK solid w/an OC on a Tbred B 1700+@1.83ghz w/no problems. I really don't want to spend anymore than this. it really matter what you wanna do with it.

i have had experience with all those brands.

the shuttle would be solid but dont expect to do anything in the way of OCing with it...

all the rest look to be solid mobo's just with varied extras...

That's a nice list but I didn't see even one Biostar listed

I been happy with both I have, but never tried overclocking them.

I'm looking for something for a 2500xp 333fsb soon too.

I beg to differ regarding the Shuttle and OCing.

My kidz' rig.......

1700+(1.47GHz) T-bred B DLT3C @ 2.31 GHz ( 11*210FSB ) cpu voltage = 1.6v
Shuttle AN35N-Ultra all default voltages on the mobo ( chipset, ram, agp)
2 x 256MB Twinmos / winbond CH-5 PC3200
ATI Radeon 8500
40GB Maxtor

My take on NForce 2's......( just my opinion and I'm stickin' to it.

)

If you want all or most of da shait and are gonna OC. Abit NF7-S.

If you just want the chipset and don't need RAID or firewire. Shuttle AN35N-Ultra

If you have to have EVERYTHING. DFI LAN party or Gigabyte GA-7NNXP ( bring full wallet )

a majority of their boards are just solid but dont contain crap for ocing...

I would say the epox is the one

The Epox 8RDA3+ is an excellent board based upon NVIDIA's nForce2 400 Ultra chipset. It's pretty clear from the bundled hardware components that Epox really went all out with this board. The bundled 4 USB ports onboard, dual LANs, Firewire, Serial ATA and other included features provide for a well-rounded board that has few equals in this category, with only Asus's A7N8x Deluxe coming close.

It's a bit unfortunate that Epox didn't include the supported S/PDIF and extra USB cable (both are available from the distributors of the motherboard or Epox themselves. Had these two cables been included, I would have been hard pressed to find problems with the features of this board at all. As it is this board extremely close to a perfect 40 score in the features category and near the top in the other categories as well.

Performance, stability and compatibility are exactly in-line with other nForce2 motherboards I've used. Had I tried a Barton CPU or 400MHz FSB CPU which the board fully supports, I'm confident that the performance would have excelled. On our standard 2200+ XP with 512MB test system, the benchmark scores were as close to identical to the Soltek SL75-MRN-L, as to be statistically insignificant.

After a lot of thought, and comparing this board with Soltek's SL75-MRN-L and Asus's A7N8x Deluxe, I've decided that this motherboard will remain in my main Athlon test system. I really like the included features (Rounded ATA cables are great!) and the performance is close enough as to make the choice rather easy. It replaces my Asus A7N8x Deluxe in my personal system. At least till we get Athlon 64 in the next few month.

I've heard good things about the lanparty. tomshardware.com seemed to like it. Also, it comes with a bunch of free shit in the box.

I love my Gigabyte, but they usually aren't the best overclockers. They have a BIOS setting that overclocks the machine 10% for ya, and you can get to the memory tweak and extra BIOS settings by hitting Shift+F1 in bios (or is it ctrl, i forget). Overall though, they don't OC as well as most boards, but they ARE nice and stable

i have had grat luck with the msi K7N2's i have the Delta-ILSR my friend has the delta-L i like both of them alot i dont know how well the delta-L OC's but the ILSR OC's very nice

Just got one yesterday. SWEET mobo!

Seems to be an excellent board at this point. Excellent OCing options All sorts of o/b features that actually work. Dual NICs, Soundstorm 6.1, HighPoint IDE RAID 0, 1, 1.5, Single SATA controller ( No SATA RAID ) , firewire, 6 USB ports, frontX accessory panel, pc transporter, roundy cable set........Jeesh, the friggin' retail box is like a small suitcase.

Setup was a breeze too. A bit pricey but when you add up the shait you get it ant that bad at all. My hats off to DFI for an excellent product!

K7N2 Delta-L owner right here
I love it, I sorted out my software issues (Win XP mostly) and now things are great
the board OC's really well too. As long as you have the cooling
You may want to slap an small fan on the chipset HS seeing as the Delta-L doesn't have a fan, where as it's bigger badder brother does
