I've loved that movie since it came out. When it first came out critics panned it and really critisized the violence. Many said it should have been rated x for all the extreme violence. And initially it was.

Years later many of the same critics are now calling Scarface a masterpiece. Talk about bandwagon jumpers.

Is the new edition any better for picture quality? I have the original DVD and the picture sux. It's more like bad vhs. I've heard the new edition has about the same quality, but better sound.

Some great scenes and lines in that movie. <i>"say hallo to my lil friend"</i> :d

*Side note: How this movie got made. Al Pacino and some friends were walking along Hollywood Blvd and noticed the old Scarface movie was playing at a theatre there. So they went in and watched it. After that he wanted to make a Scarface movie. It all came together after the castro fiasco and they had the perfect story.

You guys like Al, another masterpiece with him is Heat. Awesome movie with the best shootouts ever. Crooks later copied that in real life in L.A. And the sounds from Heat test your sound setup. Great sounds. Among the best ever.

watched part of scarface the other night and it was very good

heat was underrated - one of the most intelligient films cops and robbers films

my all time favorite character is still the one DeNiro played in Jackie Brown - small role but awesome
