am I sue happy?
Well I was at work and I got a really good size burn. I'll put up a pic later tonite.
Now I work at a jiffy lube and burned myself on an exhaust manifold. I was wearing the only safety equipment we had. A burn sleeve. Now this sleeve goes from your hand to about your elbow. Cool. It has a spot for your thumb (very big opening) and I burned myself through there.
Now this was on about a 600 degree manifold and it blistered up ALOT.
I have not gone to the doctor yet and this was about a week ago. The burn is about 1.75 inches long and is really nasty looking.
Am I sue happy for wanting to sue if it results in a permanent scar? I mean this is right on my hand and have gotten numerous "eww thats gross" from family and friends. Even customers at work.
Do i even have any grounds to file suit? Thanks for the advice guys.

well yeah an accident report was filled out and signed by my manager, who witnessed it happen. I think i'm gonna head down to the doctor tomorrow.
And how is it my fault? I was wearing all the safety equipment that was availible to me. They do not supply gloves which would have avoided the accident.
I was also not allowed to go to the hospital when it happened as I was needed to work.
I'm sorry but I'm sick of employers thinking they have no liability. Especially the company that I work for because they like to dick around there employees.

The fact that they wouldn't let you go to the hospital or a doctor is complete and utter bullshit. Since an accident report was filled out, I would go into work the tell the boss that I am going to the hospital to have it checked out. Hell go to the emergancy room and make them pay a nice bill. If the "man" gives you any shit tell him it's either the hospital or the labor board and a lawyer.
Any body who gets hurt in my department goes to the doctor. I make them go to protect both the worker and myself.
I'm not lazy by nature, I work very hard at being lazy.

UberNeuman is correct. I too work on cars and have been injured at work but employers have health insurance and workmans comp for accidents YET one has to always report any accidents to ones manager when injured.
Now, if you have health insurance don't wait, see a doctor ASAP. There's no grounds to sue anyone however.
