System specs....

Post by Demrok »

all right.. I have an AMD 2600+

it's suposed to be a 2.13 or something like that but registers as a 2.088 not that big a deal I guess...
but being a speed freak (duh...I am a member of PCA :) ) I want to get my moneys worth!!

I have a new MSI K7N2 Delta, 512 DDR 400mhz and my Radeon 8500 128
I was running 3DMark2001Se and went to browse online results, the PC feedback it gave me is why I am here...

-System Configuration-
Operating System - Microsoft Windows XP
DirectX Version - 9.0
Mobo Manufacturer - MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD
Mobo Model - MS-6570
AGP Rates - (Current/Available) 4x / 1x 2x 4x
CPU Unknown - 2088 MHz
FSB - 166 MHz
Memory - 512 MB
Graphics Chipset - ATI RADEON 8500 Series
Driver Name - RADEON 8500 SERIES
Driver Version - 6.14.10.6378
Video Memory - 128 MB
Program Version - 3DMark2001 SE
Resolution - 1024x768 32bit
Texture Format - 32bit
FSAA - Disabled
Z-Buffer Depth - 24bit
Frame Buffer - Triple
Rendering Pipeline - D3D Pure Hardware T&L

why is it that my FSB is only 166???? should it not be more then that?? why does my CPU only configure as a 2.088???

I have tinkered in the bios before and tried OC'ing it a bit... jus tto see if I could get the 2.133 but no go... system locked up and I had to do some jumper moving to reset the thing so I could restart (thought I cooked the CPU :D )
anyone help me out??
and anyone have a good guide to OC'ing the 2600+??

thanks guys!

Amd made 2 2600+ t-breds. 1 with a 12.5 multiplier and 1 with a 13 multiplier.
See here
The t-bred you have is known for its non overclocking abilities. The best I have been able to get out of mine was 180 fsb@ 1.75v, but I have some really junk memory in that board. I don't think good memory would help it much though.

Its 166 x 2 = 333
