Popups galore!!!!!

Post by PreDatoR »

My dad called me up said he's getting poppup's out the ass... just turn the computer on and the pop up adds start... he downloaded the newest adware ran it it found nothing. He's behind a Linksys router on a cable connection. Messenger Service is disabled and its still doing it. All of the newest windows updates and what not. So i'm suspecting that its some fucking shit he got from some website. Why these god damn assholes got to do this shit is beyond me... its popping up about 5-10 poppups a min and i sure as hell can't figure it out.

Does Adaware have the latest updates/reference files? This would be the one for the latest free Adaware Build 6.181 (earlier builds might not get the latest reference files):
Reference Number : 01R217 08.09.2003
Internal build : 107

You could also try SpybotSD with the latest reference file.

Its was poppups for everything of all sorts... funny thing was... with his net connection unhooked they still popped up... I downloaded the newest ad aware but it must not have installed correctly cause it found nothing. So i dumped it after a bit and installed it again... that time it found 30 some things... cleaned it up and now nothing is popping up... I'd like to just once get my hands on the bastard that does this shit... :fight :P :P :P

My roommate uses the Google bar which has anti-pop-ups built in. I personally am using Ad-muncher, a program that rids of pop-ups and ads on webpages. It's a cool program, free to use but expires where it forces you to uninstall but you just reinstall and it works again.
