Actually I do have a cruiser (Vulcan), but thats only because I couldn't beat the price (free!!) Come next spring it will be sold, replaced by a CBR or FZR. You'll see as you get a little older, 30 really isn't old

there is nothing wrong with liking crotch rockets when your older....i was simply stating that anyone younger than 29/30 shouldnt have a harley....just doesnt seem right.
I have always associated Harleys as being an "older mans" bike. So when I see someone younger riding one, it looks awkward to me

Maybe it's that I live HERE but I kinda have the Harley fever myself and have learned to like them but then I'm also "OLD" (way past 30 something). I wouldn't even consider a crotch rocket as they just don't look confortable and I really wouldn't want to ever go 150-200MPH on 2 wheels (no thanks). If I want fast, I'll drive a fast car as they're more confortable and alot safer too. I've never even driven a Harley but wouldn't mind trying one out. One doesn't buy a Harley for speed but as a cruising bike and ideally one should then be riding on cruises with other Harley riders as that's what they do and they seem to enjoy themselves, no doubt about it.
The main obsticles: ...wives that think they're too dangerous thus will nag you to death (that'd be a BIG issue here), I'd hear things like "where's your helmet?" and Harley riders just don't wear Helmets, nope (very rare), .....bad weather like being caught in rain (always sucks on a bike), ...road hazzards that are normally not THAT bad in a car BUT can kill you on a bike (things laying on the road, small animals or deer), ...other drivers in traffic who don't see you or don't respect your space and that's a major problem always on ANY bike.
I have an old Honda now that I've had for 11 yrs and I almost never ride anymore as there's too much traffic in my area for me to think it's "fun" to ride it. It'd be great on the country roads but I'd have to ride out for a while to get there (forget about it on the freeway as that's a bummer IMO). The Honda's for sale but who knows, maybe someday I'll get a Harley. One thing's for sure around here, you get respect with a Harley but not with other bikes. There's also a very serious pride of ownership and product loyalty with Harley that you don't see with most things in this world. If I get one before the next reunion in 5 years, I won't even have to ride it far to join in the big Parade (just a few short miles away

).

There's nothing like a harley

I had a sporster for awhile...it kinda beat me up actually..but now I've got this fatboy and it rides like a cadillac

The sound is what I love about mine..put me a set of samson shorties on this thing..it's sounds great!!

You ride a Harley...you won't go back to a jap bike

All the time I had the sportster I never did anything to it as far as repairs go.You just need to make sure you get a newer one with the EVO or really new twincam's...otherwise you'll spend half your time tightening the bolts up.Have several friends that have older ones and they're always working on then..i really don't care to work on one myself,unless it's changing oil,plugs,stuff like that.

I'll get mine out and take some pics this weekend...it's been frickin raining so much around here it's nuts!!

Those are my age standards for motorcycles. I myself cant wait to get a crotch rocket. A nice speedy go fast bike. I might even stretch it and not get a harley until I turn 30

Loud, slow, and unexciting. I'd rather get a 200 Mph sport bike than a harley.

My wife has riden on the back of one and she did like it. Won't ride on the back of my Honda however. She's against the idea because "they're dangerous"

1450cc and 660+ lbs of weight will easily be beaten by a 700cc 300lb sport bike.

I'm talking about quality of bike,resell,ride and they are made in *USA*.And yeah they cost a few bucks

Well, speaking of cool bikes that can't be easy to support at a stop light, a Boss Hoss with a Chevy 502 cid crate engine (a mere 500 HP too I might add) weighs about 1500lbs. I've seen a few of those up close and sure, VERY cool too I might add BUT what IF you're not a super huge guy and it falls over? Wouldn't be a good time IMO.
