I'll give it a try when I get home from this lan party, cable connection sucks.
Has anyone ever played other mods for Q3 like Rocket Arena? Now that was one bad-ass mod!

Only reason I keep Q3 on the computer - other than benchmarking - is to play Urban Terror.

New ones seems to rock. Nice update to the maps & weapons. Physics feel tight.

I'm downloading it now. Do I have to uninstall the older version or can I just install the new version over the top of it?

I am DLing the file too....
(less than a half hours time :) )

but a few quick questions.....

How is the gaming community with this mod? Are there less little fucktards running around in this game than in CS?
How different is the gameplay?

And do all I need is just Quake 3 with its latest release?
or will any version of Quake 3 suffice?

This thing is giving me fits. First I tried to launch game from the shortcut in the folder you extract in to the Quake 3 folder. It looks for files under C\program files but that is not where I have it installed. So then I launch Quake 3 and see the Mods tab. I select that and launch U/T and all it gives me are servers with the 2.x version. So I get All Seeing Eye but it does not list anything above 2.6a. I am lost for now Ill have to mess with it later. Anyone have any ideas where I have gone wrong?

you did try installing the full 3.0 version?

I didnt have a current version of it...so at first I installed q3
then I updated to v1.30
Then I extracted the zip version like the readme said
Then I updated q3 to 1.32

i have no probs....

I wrote all my cd keys down and I keep them in a binder with my cds....but it appears as if my cd key is invalid..
so I am trying to find the damn cd case to make sure I didnt write my key down incorrectly....

DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
ive torn up the whole house looking for them.....

stupid question...which I think the answer is no....but is there a way to extract my cdkey off my q3 cd?
i doubt it....but you never know

Q3UT3 installs in a seperate folder from Q3UT2. A little wierd. You need to copy all the add-on map .PK3 files (NOT the map files) rom the old mod folder to the new one or most servers will kick you for not having some obscure map.

Turn off auto-downloading....that is a big thing too.

Absolut: Q3 no longer checks CD keys for online play. Something like "ASSASSASSASSASS" or something works.

it did check...everytime I connected to a server, it said invalid key

anyways...i found it and played a bit....

i dont like it much...
on the website, they make it sound so much cooler than it really is. There are people that jump all over the freaking place.....and its still got that q3 feeling that I dont really like....

I still think that ghost recon is the best game ever for this type of teambased game

Well I copied the files from the older version like FP suggested. At first it still would not work. Then after some messing around (not really sure what I did) it started working.
