Post by renovation »

for the last 3-4 days now my cable seems to cut out and come back with in five mins of loss signal !
i was hooked up to a router and it would blink out (lights would flicker)
the modem would stay solid lights !
so i called the company and got a rma.
now that router is removed im still having problem not as bad but still. (loss of comcast cable signal)
the unit was ping and it reads fine - any ideas !
i hate to have the cable guy out .we all know we are smarter then most of them ~~~
the modem is a toshiba pcx1100
the Last time I was Talking to myself . I got into such a heated argument . that is why I swore I never talk to that guy again. you know what it worked now no buddy talking to me. :help

Where you live bellringer? I've got Comcast here in central Florida and it's been on and off the past 2 days.

It's usually a rock.

they came today and replaced a bunch of cable jumpers in the house -and the cable wire from the pole to the house -if that dont work i may replace the cable modem -then the nic card but the card would be my last thing to replace becouse its after the modem ! but that would be only thing left !
i even rma a router thinking it was my problem ! (didnt mind that much seeing it was a older modle and im getting the lastest and greats the company has released for price of one way shipping ! $8 with tracking :)
but with my mail service i may of been better off just going to the store and getting a new one -time wise :(

I doubt it's the NIC. Could be modem. Cables is always the first thing they try. Cable modems are VERY fussy about signal.

I'm borderline on signal here and had a lot of trouble until I ran a dedicated line from the splitter outside.
