Stupid IE Behavior

Post by chottoED »

I've a user a work that has a wierd problem where if she maximizes her IE, the active IE window would then maximize and then shift down leaving a gap near the top of the display that would reveal the desktop.

I've patched up her IE, updated her DirectX, and updated her vid card drivers but it persists. Then I've also reset IE to default settings and even uninstalled/installed IE and yet the behavior persists.

Any suggestions?

Doesn't sound like an IE issue. Sounds like something to do with her video card driver.

Does she have any kind of desktop enhancements enabled that might fool IE into thinking the desktop is a different size than it really is?

Maybe Windows thinks the toolbar is on the top of the screen. Try dragging it up there and open IE maximized, then drag the toolbar down to the bottom.

Maybe some background app is causing it.

Hope this helps...
