Worst Wreck You Ever Had?

Post by eGoCeNTRoNiX »

Just thought I'd post these pictures.. I was out in my warehouses and saw my car. I'm going to build another one of these some day. All I really need is a body that's in good shape and I'll have another running car.. But, here are the pictures.. If you have pictures of yours, and a story to go along with it, share it. I was driving to work one morning, it was raining but that's not what caused the accident, and I fell asleep at the wheel and had a head on with an 18-Wheeler. This happened on November 14, 2000. Sorry the pictures are dark. I made it out with 7 stitches in my lip, and not another scratch besides. So I was lucky. TonyH, I know you had it hard in your accident, and I hope all is going well. eGo

That is really amazing eGo. I bet you were amazed you walked away from that accident. I swear, god must have been with you. Glad you're ok. :)

Me...I fortunately have yet to be subject to an accident. I have had my fair share of close calls, but I am a pretty good driver, really alert. Actually, when we drove to Salmon, my mom was dozing off at the wheel, on those windy roads and everything. There is no shoulder, and had I not reached across the steering wheel to yank it the other direction, I can almost bet I wouldn't be posting this. The ditch was there and so was a turn off a few feet ahead. We would have ran straight into a wall of dirt. I think the quick responsiveness of our 535i had a part in it too, damn that thing handles. :) My friends back in woodbury have gotten in accidents already, and I've been driving almost a year longer then them, two years this August. My dad trusts me to even drive his M3... :D It's amazing how much my parents trust me...truely amazes me, I have so much friggen freedom. :D

So, anyways, back to topic. One of my friends was actually driving with his PERMIT in their brand new Honda Odyssey. He thought one car had a stop sign, and they didn't, so the car rammed into the side of the van. Needless to say, the van was totalled and his mom walked out with a broken collar bone (she was in the passenger seat). Another friend of mine was driving his 76 Camaro (I think, I don't quite remember) and he accidently backed into another car (he was bakcing out of another friend's drive way). He had a little scratch on his metal beast, the other car supposedly had a big dent though. :p Something that truely amazes me is that the worst driver I know has yet to get into an accident. I have another friend that can't even park...very bad driver. And another friend that steals his dad's pickup and goes into the "boonies" and breaks 100 mph (his dad's F150). he actually broke 100mph in his dad's focus too... LOL I never saw any pictures either, this all happened AFTER I left, go figure... :p I think if I was there I'd probably be in an accident just because the way these guys bother me when I'm driving. I take driving almost too seriously.

Anyways, I'd love to hear other stories too! :D

I've put various vehicles in the ditch several times, but the worst accident I've been in occurred a couple of years ago. I wasn't paying attention and drove right into the back of an idle vehicle. I slammed on the brakes pretty hard with seconds to spare, but it wasn't enough to slow the 1988 Buick Battle Tank that I was driving at fifty or sixty kilometres an hour. Put a pretty solid dent in the rear bumper of the vehicle I drove in to, but this was nothing compared to the damage suffered by the vehicle that was following me too close from behind. The driver tuned up the front end of his car pretty good. The 1988 Buick Battle Tank? Not a scratch.

Me thinks you have friends in high places. A head-on with an 18 wheeler, and you only had 7 stitches on your lip? And to top it all off, you were driving that small dinky bug. :; Consider that a gift and a second chance. Don't fall asleep anymore while driving. ;)

My worst was when going to work one day I was driving around 35-40 and a gal runs a stop sign and smashes me on my front passenger side. Her hit made me lose all steering and braking capability. And since she hit me, that forced me at an angle and head on into a utilty pole. Couldn't stop or steer out of the way at all. Saw that big pole and thought, this is it.

Was driving a corsica and hit that pole good. Tore right through the middle of my car, all glass shattered. I was just bruised up. The seatbelt saved me, and perhaps the airbag too. Car was totaled of course.

Funny thing is, I was wearing glasses and they flew out. The police found them the next day about 20 yards from where I hit the pole, and not even scratched.

The gal was hurt much worse, and she was not wearing seatbelts.

If its a new F150 it won't go past 105 mph Sean.. I had a 97 and burried the needle a couple times :D I've just been a little fender bender... hit a Dodge Shadow in the rear. was at a stop sign she took off turning left i let off the brake started rolling forward and was looking left and right to make sure it was clear so i could go. about that time i went to hit the gas and WHAM... the stupid bitch had stopped half way out into the intersection. why i don't know cause it was clear for 200 yards All it did to my F150 was bend the tow hook and put a scratch on the top fiberglass piece on the bumper... her car... it needed a new bumper( my tow hook caught it dead in the center and v'd it in real bad. knocked out all of her tail lights wrinckled the left rear quarter screwed up the trunk lid pretty bad. about 2500 dollars worth of damage. we exchanged insurance info and whatnot and never filed a police report... well about a month later her insurance calls me wanting money i told them to talk to my insurance and not to call me back again... about 2 months after that i called my insurance to see what had ever happened and they wouldn't take the claim cause a police report wasn't filed lol so i guess her insurance had to eat the repair costs for her car cause mine never paid a dime.

I think it's a 98, I don't quite remember. I know it's not brand new. :)
