Im planning on doing some work to my fiance's car too. I'm gonna buy her a new one, and keep her old one as a project car. I found a site full of Saturn HiPo parts that I never knew existed before, so I'm getting antsy to have some fun!

Naa no led fans even though i am swapping all of the dash led's out with blue ones and white guages as well. The old stereo location will soon have a Ford Taurus cup holder and coin tray in its place and the stereo is down by the stick in the console right above the ash tray. Getting new bumpers OEM 90-92 GTi bumpers, Installing a H&R Cup Kit suspension aka its gettin' dumped 2 inches for handling purposes and building my own custom upper strut bars front and rear. Once i get all of this done hopefully by august its getting a paint job. I'm doing all of the work myself to save a lot of cash, gonna paint it at work in our fully ventilated paint booth. Gonna get the handling and paint done then this winter gonna be upgrading the motor... Either a 1.8T out of a new Jetta or GTi or i'm gonna Turbo this 1.8L 8v it has now... I'm hoping to get at least 175 Horse out of the motor in it now if i go that route. Should make it a low 15 sec car which is plenty fast for me. Already have a granny low tranny in it. 5th gear 70mph it turns 4200 rpm's lol i do have a new 5th gear set here that i need to put in that will drop the rpm's down to about 3400 at 70mph.
70mph at 4200rpms? Ouch, yeah man that new gear will get ya going hehehe.
Have fun man, I love working on cars. Heck, I used to hate this Saturn until I found out theres HiPo parts for it. Granted, I won't get any of those "Saturn Performance Club" stickers, because I think that would make it to rice looking... Besides, I'm more for the sleeper look.
Few things I want to do to it is a larger TB, larger exhaust, larger cross-drilled rotors + rear disk conversion. White gauge package and a nice stereo. ram air intake, possible turbocharger. Rebuild the tranny to make it stronger, fun stuff like that
When my fiancee bought the car it was stock.. Period. Just an AM/FM radio, no power anything. I plan on going to a junkyard and stealing the power window and lock units as well as the power sunroof parts (Only options it has is a sunroof and rear defog).
Im looking forward to this, a performance saturn isnt well heard of. My cougar though has a 5.0 liter, so there's a LOT of hipo cougars out there. I think a hipo saturn will be even more fun hehe.

Ya thats what my visions are for this Golf is a total Sleeper I'm dropping it and keeping the stock 13" steelies on it... lol... gonna put some agressive street tires on it though. I've got my chrome beauty rings and chrome center caps and after the wheels are painted flat black i think it will look pretty decent...
