ActiveSpeed.. BS?

Post by eGoCeNTRoNiX »

Hey All.. My mom got this email about a program called ActiveSpeed. She is curious as to whether or not it really works. Am I correct in my assumption that all of these programs are pretty much the same and just cache the hell out of your normal viewing pages, therefor providing the illusion of speeding up your connection? Or do they actually "optimize" something? Are there any optimizations I should do to the computers/modem setting to try and speed things up? Any info/help is appreciated. eGo

It just bull**** .... the only way to make your internet connection faster is a faster internet connection :D
Yes, most likely it (pre)caches frequently visited webpages or it downloads links from a current webpage while you read it into its cache.
