I dont believe windows media player decodes dvd's, what you wanna use is a program like winDVD or Powerdvd that will decode both the video and audio stream for you

But my computer does that to when I'm watching DivX on my TV from my PC, I had to reboot the PC in Dual monitor mode, then just drag your media player window over to the extended desktop and it should work.. Hope that helps.. eGo

What video card are you using? That will help to know. I have a Radeon 9000 and I just have to plug the SVid up to the TV, and then I go into the display settings, go to the advanced tab, click on Displays, then I enable to TV, you've gotten this far. Well, once you've enabled it, you have to go back to the main display settings tab, and you should see a box with Monitor 1 and monitor 2, click on monitor 2, then click on the check box that says "Extend my desktop onto this monitor. Then apply settings, and reboot. when you reboot, you should see your post messages on both your TV and monitor, then when winblows loads, start up media player, drag it over to the TV screen and hit play. Hope that helps. If it doesn't, I'll try to make a small video to show you how.. eGo

I still think you should try to reboot after you enable the display on the TV, because I know that it wouldn't play on my TV until after I rebooted in the dual display mode. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what else you can try. eGo

Hey. Swinada is correct. You must make your TV a primary display and either disable your monitor or set it to be a secondary display. This can be accomplished through your video card control panel.
