good time to upgrade?

I'm not really even "upgrading" per se, I'm getting some stuff upgraded, but it won't be a huge jump by any means (1.4 to 1.8, some more memory--basically upgrading to the new boards with the 333 FSB) but I don't know if I should. With new games like DooM III and Half-Life 2 on the horizon, I don't know if I should bother yet. Do you think these new games will require more than a 1.8 with a gig of RAM or do you think they will be more dependant on an excellent video card (this is my thinking).

I just don't know if I should wait for the games to come out until I decide to upgrade or if I should just go ahead now....hmm.

That's the age old question that haunts us all, when to upgrade.

I don't think we'll know what those games wll require till they are out, or close to it. So unless you just want to upgrade, I'd wait till that time. And of course by then it all will be cheaper too. Unless you get the very latest.

Actually, whatever we do upgrade now we'll still upgrade later regardless. We are a weak bunch in that regard. )* >?

The real part of me says wait cause my PC does all I want it to....but I've been havin' the itch to upgrade, heheh. This bites
