I killed my motherboard! Who will fix it?

I had an epox 8k9a3+ and like a fool, I killed it when i put on a new heatsink (the slk900) I like a complete jackass I didn't use the proper tools to screw the damn thing in, and now i get to pay the price. guess what? i bought a new mobo tonight, and figured I might as well fix this one, and see if any of you might want it. I bought it from newegg not too long ago but being it has phisical damage I don't think they will replace it, epox I belive gives me a warrenty, witch i am looking into now. any advice on how to go about fixing my problem would be GREAT. and if anyone has the means to fix the board, it's for sale VIA new thread in the buy/sell/trade channel.

halfway discriptive problem w/board:

two small resistors (I guess thats what they are, the really small square-ish ones) broke off, one is dangling on, the other is completely missing.

Well that sure sux.

I'm not sure if anyone can fix that.

I always hate those heatsinks that bolt to the mobo, but mostly because you have to remove the mobo to attach them.

do you still have the parts? if so i might be able to repair it. but i need TONS of caffien before i even think of soldering somthing that small.

Without the original parts it's hopeless. It's also a BITCH to solder surface mount components without the right tools. I've done it - takes a fine pencil soldering iron, some Baroque classical music and a glass of Cognac to steady my nerves for it.

The little chip is missing, anyone got an 8k9a mobo? If I know what the chip is, perhaps I can perchase a new one, and send it on over to one of you....

the missing chip is at the top right corner of the top left HSF mount hole. it has the code, c87 to it's left.

What is this Chip? and were can I find a new one? I might be able to sodder it myself if I have the little guy. please give me as discriptive of a discription you can, I am really stupid when it comes to these tiny things, stupid anyway. heh.

Also, I bumped another chip labled F828 it's near the bottem left of the bottem right mount hole.

well.. if its C then its probbly a capasitor of some sort. C #87 acording to the parts lists (what it exactly is i dont know cause i dont have the parts list) thats my guesstamate.

I've done this repair many times. I once whacked a resistor quad pack on a brand-new Asus A7M266-D. Soldered a new one on and all was well. Same goes for a chip cap on a PPro board, and several resistors on a friend's Biostar board.

I have the proper iron and components, if you want me to I can take a stab at saving it.

I knocked 8 of them off the back side of a Slot A 800 T-bird. The Bird is still in use today after repairs.It was real touchy work but it lived. Been running 18 months now.
