DVD Playback..
Ok Guys.. What kind of stuff is needed to use DVD playback on your computer besides the DVD drive and the software? I have a Saphire 9000. I know my mother's computer has a DVD player in it, and it's just got the Intel 810e Graphics and chipset. So I don't know why I couldn't just pop in a DVD player and install the software and start watching movies. Any help is appreciated.. eGo

As long as the cpu is past 300mhz, it should be no problem. Try and see, if the cpu is too slow then the movie will also be slow.

Radeon 9000, I don't recall it coming with any DVD software though.. Maybe it's built into the HydraVision? Dunno.. I'll have to check it out though. I have PowerDVD, but I haven't had much of a chance to use it yet.. CPU is a XP1800+@1.64ghz. So speed shouldn't be an issue.. lol.. I just remember trying to swap my mom's DVD drive out and put it in my old compaq and couldn't ever get it to work. So I'm either gonna give it another shot, or order one off of NewEgg. Hers is only an 8x and I wouldn't mind having a 16x.. Anywho.. Thanx for the info guys.. eGo

It isn't in the hydrovision, you'll need a dvd software player like power dvd. Try it with power dvd, it should work just fine.
An 8x dvd drive shouldn't make any difference, unless it isn't working. Only diff between that and a 16x one is when you rewind or fast forward, and how often do we do that.
