Direct Cable Connection

Post by swinada »

I know this question is probably simple for most of you......but for me a big struggle......
Can I connect a desktop comp running XP or 2000 with a Laptop running Win ME through a LPT port with data transfer cable. If yes, how? Any tutorials or guides somewhere?

does both hte desktop and the laptop have a nic in them?

then you can just use a standard crossover cable and hook them together directly
Gone for good. But never say never

I've used the Linksys USB NIC. Works fine. $29 at CDW: http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.asp?EDC=341340

OMG been years since ive done a DCC threw a serial or parralel port, It is painfully slow a nic is the way to go, usb is a good choice as u can pull it of your lappy and toss it on a freinds box if needed .
