Got the idea from EvilHorace's thread about the volvo. Just curious how many miles you guys are rackin' up on your car
The body of mine has ~230,000--the engine was supposedly rebuilt 80,000 ago though.

My '86 745T has ONLY 214K miles on it now but has had many new parts since I bought it 8 yrs ago (then had 125K miles and was poorly maintained, neglected), but is now practically restored and like new again. It'd almost be easier for me to list the parts that are original, like the rear end, PS rack, main non-wearing brake parts, upholstery, and a few other items. The body's still rust and dent free, the paint isn't bad overall, the interior's still decent. The new engine has only 20K miles on it and the auto trans (converted by me from manual, MTs were bad news with it) has maybe 80K on it (they last forever too). Has many new electronics, etc including mods. I'm hoping to keep it another 10 years or so as I don't really care for the newer cars enough to want to make those type of car payments as my cars are paid for. The car's now my daily driver and goes anywhere, anytime. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country in a moment if need be.
7/30/05 update: now 263K miles and STILL almost perfect. Don't really rack up the miles anymore as I only live 15 miles from work. I'm still hoping to keep it yet another 10 yrs and it should see ~400K miles. New Volvos simply suck in comparison as I repair them daily for a living, good for me ($$$
) but bad for those who own one.

Well, I just wrecked it, and thus replaced it, but the 94 Grand Caravan I was driving had 209,000 on it, with the only rebuilt item being the transmission. Other than that, everything was original. And it running great right up until it hit that tree....
After 10pm, I'm like a werewolf, except I become stupid and incoherent instead of hairy and mean.

Well, I still have my XJ (Cherokee) which I keep around for winter. Its has just over 222,000 miles on it (or is it 225k? Been a month since I've driven it!). Original motor went to about 165,000. Thinking about selling it and getting a Wrangler
A ways back, I had a VW Rabbit diesel that had a little over 500,000 miles on it before I sold it. Other than timing belts and a couple of head gaskets, that motor was orignal. Still ran good too!

well, the hillbilly hotrod had about 280k when i stopped driving it. It was all orignal engine and trans. The sad part is it still ran great and would still get up to 135 (that is of course if the speedometer is accurate when it goes all the way around). And the wagon only has about 170 on it and runnin strong. And the bus has about 70k on it, And is at the moment inches away form death. the Elcamino has about 120k on it. but the engine only has about 20k.
all I beat all of you guies with this one: 1978 c-10 chevy pickup 1.5 million miles !!!! I have to keep track of the od after it decided to turn over, the family bought it new and since then we have racked it up. the firebird has 50,000 and its a 82, bought it last year, and the camaro has 250,000 miles.
I had a 78 Ford LTD that had about 350,000 miles on it when I traded it in. Transmission slipped like you wouldnt believe (Though I could peel out in reverse. Only reverse. Any other gear, it would slip and not go anywhere if I floored it at a complete stop until it got down to idle), choke would occasionally freeze open on me (Damn venturi carbs, Ford only used em for 2 years, I got lucky), it got like 5 miles to the gallon.
But man, when you wanted to carry around 15 people, it was the perfect vehicle hehe.

not much but heyu it a car
1993 subrua justy 197k on it and i bought ti at an auction for 100 bucks, nobody wanted it and i said what the hell, could be fun car to drive and it is, had to replace some stuff because who ever had it, just abused the heck out of it. i replaced the head, intake, exhaust gaskets, water hoses, sparks, and new batt. and she runs like a new car. when she is warmed up, she will do anything you want her to do. its ever fun going mudding, cant go to deep, but it fun, even power slidding.
