HP printer question

Post by TheManiacal1 »

does anyone know the differences between their:
PhotoRET III, PhotoRET IV, and Colorsmart II "print technologies" ????

i know they've been using PhotoRET with their photo inkjet printers (HP 1215, HP 995, etc.) but i've never heard of their Colorsmart II ... just wondering if it's any improvement over the PhotoRET and if there are any other attributes to it? ie. more ink consuption? longer ink life? etc...

there probably all the same...I know my HP has photoRET and I cant tell the diffference betqween it and normal printing. Takes a little less time with photoRET. It's probably just like different colors it accents more or something.

i'm down to one HP inkjet printer now (HP G85) and enabling PhotoRET does yield much better results over it's standard "high quality" printing. unfortunately, the G85's max is only 2400x1200 so for photos it kinda sucks. it uses the older PhotoRET II system i think and i've seen their new HP 7550 spit out photolab-quality prints and it uses their PhotoRET III (or IV). i was looking at some of their other printers and saw mention on a pretty high end one Colorsmart II .... ugh... why can't they make this shit more simple?
