found the case finally but I don't think I can get it anywere in manitoba. well at the computer stores here anyway.

i decided the case would be the Genesis case

Standard ATX form factor Front panel with digital temperature display Side panel window with clear fan (lights not included) 4 open 5.25” drive bays 2 open 3.5” drive bays 4 hidden 3.5” drive bays (total of 10 drive bays) Build in 2 front USB 2.0 port connectors Build in Firewire connector Rear 12 cm case fan included Includes a 8cm side panel fan 4 optional 8cm fans in the lower front of the case Max. 6 cooling fans could be installed (4 optional) Dimensions: 17” (H) x 7.75” (W) x 18.75” (D) Max. Motherboard size: 12” x 10” 350 watt power included.

then I would take out the 350 watt power and put in the 651 Enermax or is that too much for a 2 ghz computer? for processing speed?

now again where in manitoba can I get this case?

but is there a panel thats just plain? because I dont' want that side window I would rather have one thats either a etched biohazard or radiation design window. and a window on top too and a fan as well.

Let me know the maker and the model number and I'll see what I can do for you.
I work at a computer store in Manitoba. I'd like to get that one for myself too....

A hollowed out TH350 would make a good case for you... not only would the PC guys be impressed but the Gearheads would be to!

ive got a powerglide too that is ready to have it doen to. the 350 need the center portion cut out yet to make room for the PS. I have a nice billit pan for it that the drives are going in.

that wouldn't be a bad idea, but mighty heavy for the case though. (hollow transmission case=> 30+ pounds)

well at 1pm here I went to our local wreaking yard and I found a th-350 and a th-400 case, just the case and the tail shaft, payed 25 bucks. for the 350 but I didn't grab the 400, and I have already talked to a couple fellow gear heads and they have offered to cut the case, as long as they get to use the "computer" when its done. it will be a interesting design. now just to cut out the valve body.

the junkyard owner asked me why I just wanted the bare case and I told the truth, after he chuckled but then asked if its possible, I said anythings possible with the the help of pcabusers and people who are just as crazy as you are. so who knows I might be building one for him. :D

there are 2 ways to do it.

1. Trans rest on pan and drives are in pannel made to shap of bell housing.

2. trans sits on bell housing and drives go in pan.

Mine was going to be 2. thats because i have a GV Over/under drive display thats going on the tail.

once you cut out the valve body there is pleannty of space for parts. also... one of the covers near the tail shaft has holes that a 80mm fan will just about fit.

I found that space and its if the transmission was working theres a valve in there that alows the transmission to shift into reverse.

that hole in case is 79 mm so I'll have to bore it out that extra mm.

I think the harddrive and mother board will be at the bottom of the case with the power supply. how would you do it? thats my way.

i would make a base that would bolt to the bell housing. the mobo would sit in that... the pci crads would face out the side of the bell housing (where the big gap is when you stand it on the bell housing) and the PS and drives would go up in the pan.
