SATA adapters on ASUS N7N8X
Anyone using an SATA adapter? I'm going to be building a new box with an ASUS A7N8X board using two WDse 80 gig drives with SATA adapters to set up a RAID 0. I was just wondering if anyone had done this and how it worked out...
SATA converters
I am using SATA converters to utilize my 2 WD Spec. Ed. 80 gig drives. I do have them set up in a RAID 0 (stripe) configuration. So far everything is working great. I have a CD burner and another 80 gig drive on Primary IDE and a DVD drive and 40 gig hd on Secondary IDE. I had absolutely no issues when setting up the SATA drives, except I had to install the other (IDE) hard drives AFTER installing Windows XP Pro to the RAID config, as Windows kept wanting to name the RAID drives G:. I have the RAID drives set up with 3 partitions (c: is like 20 gig for Windows XP and a couple apps like MS Office XP, D: is like 40 gig for all my other apps and games, E: is like 100 gig for pics, music, videos, downloads storage, etc.). The other hard drives are basically just for backing stuff up and redundant storage of critical files. So far so good...
