Probably any thing I really want is out of my price range, Buuuttt..

If not too much trouble, you could find out what he wants for the cd recorder and condition, like garaunteed to work well? If I can afford it Then I'll bother you for more info on it. No since going to too much trouble if I can't buy it anyway.

One thing I am looking for, a working power backup, LARGE.
I nearly bought a matrix 3000 or 5000 for $600 awhile back, didn't know enough about it and let it slide then. Might want one now though.

I need a back up system that will keep 2 maybe 3 systems online for long periods. Prefferably something I can connect to line power to keep the batteries charged and use 12v deep cycles for so I can expand the battery bank as needed for longer run time!

Wiith the matrix, it looked to have enough power to run my whole house, which is Ideally what I would like to do! The one I looked at before was 240v input line power, and had 240v output. Forgot the amps, but was enough to run my deepwell pump plus lots of 110v stuff :)

Eventually if I can set up the power unit and bartteries now I plan to add solar and wind to keep them charged and dump the grid altogether.

Might consider a couple smaller units, and set up two battery banks, one for the house and the other computers only if he has anything with enough kick.

He has pleanty of UPSs. I will get some pics of them tomorow (tonigt) when i go arther work. If you are sereious about 12V batteries, I can get you a ton or more of used semi truck batteries cheap. they were removed after a year of service as preventitave matenince. Hav 3 on the bus and 1 in my car and the other is in the gocart. They work great. If you want i can find out how many he has.

Altho shipping will cost alot for that much... but then again he has a big truck that he would let me use to ship them with if it isnt too far.

I've got a Cube Van (1 ton) I could probably pick up with. Looking for a good excuse to register it and start driving it again :)

Wife gets a little grumpy when the insurance bill gets here, 3 cars and my 2 vans! BUt.... if I have a good reason :) Then again I have an open trailer I could haul on too behind the van :(
Or BOTH :B

Anyway let me know what the deal would be on the semi batteries. Don't know how many I would want/need off hand.

I normally use deep cycles, how do the semi battieries last compared to the deeps? I will be running em down and charging them, so they'll be cycled! I know cheapo car batteries don't take the abuse more than a couple times. Are the semi's a cross between the two or more of the deep cycle type?

You could ask if he knows off hand what he has that might work for what I was saying about running the house off one large or several smaller UPS's.

I got 12 acres here in the woods, thinking about building a couple little wind plants for charging and a couple solars.

Shoot me some prices on the stuff, and maybe an e-mail so we don't wear out the forum :)

I'm looking to do several things, like also wire up a computer in a van or the Cube van. Went to a fund raiser Saturday. The pinback buttons I donated went high at auction, if I had had my stuff set up already I could have went to the truck and ran off another couple dozen for them. BUT since I weren't setup yet what I gave them to start was what they got. No way to make more that quick.

Oh well, they still got over $200 out of what I donated for buttons and keychains, so we were all happy!

Think with everything they raised several thousand for the girl, Like around 6 it was up there aways anyway!

Ok.. i found out the CD thingy is not for sale. And i alos forgot to bring my camera to get pix of the UPSs.

I dont know about the semi batteries being deep or not. I know the one in the gocart has been drained several times and still works fine. Ill see if i can get a price on them.
