MoBo won't come out.

Post by the.grunter »

I'm trying to remove my motherboard to, among other things, install a new heatsink (Alpha Pal 8045). Unfortunately when unscrewing it i get to the very last screw and it wont come out. I've tried and tried, but it comes out a little, then goes back in. Apparently some problem with the threading. Is there anything you can recommend to help me get it out? I really need to remove it.

Thanks.

Another Tip..

Post by eGoCeNTRoNiX »

Try holding the Mobo Standoff from the back side of the mobo with a pair of pliers. I had a screw do this to me and that's how I fixed it.. eGo

All you need to do is pull up on the screw slightly while unscrewing it. Even if you can just get a fingernail under it- once it catches it should back out as long as you don't press too hard on it.
