proper configuration settings between my pc and casio keyboard ????

Post by Wayneee »

I have a casio LK-40 keyboard that has midi in & out jacks in the back. I got a cable from casio that goes from the keybrd. to the pc's joystik socket. I'm supposed to be able to download midi songs and have them play, lighting up the proper keys. I run windows 98 w/ IE 6.0. I've been able to download midi songs and set up a file and play them through my pc, but nothing comes through to the keybrds. ??? Help please, THANK YOU

You need to configure your computer to send midi to the external midi port and NOT the internal midi card.

Go to Windows Control Panel and click on the Multimedia icon (for Win98/ME/2K) or Sound and Audio Dvices (for WinXP).

Click on the Audio tab and under Midi Music Playback select the MPU-401 External Midi port as your default midi device.

Hoep this helps...

They all play on the keyboard but only half light up the keys ??? I download the as zip files, then unzip to midi files , click on a certain song, they all play through the keyboard, but again only half lite the keys ?? Help anyone......
